After being exiled from beacon hills Stiles has a run in with an old acquaintance that offers him a chance of a life time. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think he would be taken off world and be amongst the brightest in the galaxy. Out here and "exiled" he'll find his place amongst the stars.

Death is unsociable and not liked, so he's getting an assistant, whether he wants one or not. All the traditions of passing over into the next life are turned topsy turvy as Popov is assigned to help out and tries to make passing over 'more interesting'. Even God gets a holiday when Popov is on the case and 'Demise and co' become the department of the year.

Freya seized the girl's arm, quickly covering her mouth with her hand, and drew Zoe close to her chest; she felt the girl's tears trickling onto her hands. With the last ray of sun, the girls stared at the two large, black, creatures ripping through their prey. Keith's sniper rifle lay a few feet away, unused. An introduction to the protagonist of the resurrection universe

There are a lot of off world colonies of humans all over the galaxy. Some are more genetically distant than others, but many of the people from there could walk around on Earth and nobody would notice. People from Sirius and Pleiades are good examples of this. Many of these colonies have been intentionally kept out of contact with Earth and other colonies as well.

The Ofwardians were a diverse group, and they were governed by the Guardians of the Council which was divided up into Novice Guardians, Junior Guardians, and Senior Guardians. The Senior Guardians wielded the most power, and they were subsequently the most powerful Ofwardians in the land. However, they also had something like a superiority complex-they frequently looked down on the Junior and Novice Guardians. When a few Junior Guardians decide that they are fed up with being treated like lesser human beings just because of a title, all the hell breaks loose. There is no real need for fear with the things in the light, but always fear the ones that come out at night. All mortals have a need to sleep. Rather, fear the immortals that never rest.
