The front porch was always in good condition, and the back stairs were stable. The house sat at the end of the last road in town, and all the surrounding houses had fallen down decades ago. Rumor had it that someone had lived and died in the house and their ghost was keeping up on the maintenance. Other rumors suggested that the house was under a powerful spell that kept it frozen in time and the next owner would either break the spell or the spell would break them.
