The first time they go out for coffee, it's supposed to be purely espionage level recon. Mingyu is supposed to listen to him talk about his research and then analyze his coffee order (it's really very important) and then retreat. It doesn't go at all like that. Wonwoo somehow finds a way to get under his skin, all classically put-together in ways Mingyu will never be. As doctoral candidates, they're both competitors among the small class of other literature researchers; As peers, they barely know each other beyond the few words Wonwoo has spoken to him over the last several years. But somehow, somehow- Silently regal and stoically intelligent, Jeon Wonwoo is the only thing he finds interesting enough to center his focus anymore. A single coffee breakfast might not be enough to unravel the lines of the novels between them- but Mingyu sure as hell plans on trying.
