The year is 1877. The reclusive vampire Lourdes has gone West to escape the temptation of the growing American nation; however, what he presumed was a pure land of only sky and sand turns out to be filled with vice and worse - more of his preternatural kind. And when Lourdes shoots dead a vampire preying on the closest thing to innocence in the Old West, a brothel worker named Katterina, he ends up igniting a war that puts himself, Katterina, and the whole of her little town in the crosshairs of a gang of vampire outlaws. To save the girl, Lourdes must do battle with otherworldly bandits, a corrupt priest, a cowardly sheriff, and the relentless desert sun. And, even if Lourdes can overcome these obstacles, he will have to protect Katterina from his own vampiric hunger. Lourdes's story threads a central narrative rich with gunfights and fangs together with interludes into the inner workings and underbellies of the denizens the vampire cowboy encounters on his journey. It paints a portrait of a lawless world which no longer exists, one in which the difference between good, bad, law, and outlaw is often no bigger than a grain of sand. "With Lourdes, Peter Tatara has delivered a well-crafted genre mash up and an unforgettable main character. Fans of Stephen King's Dark Tower cycle are sure to love this novel." - Robert Place Napton (Dark Wraith of Shannara, Son of Merlin, Battlestar Galactica Origins: Adama) "Tatara is to be commended for his remarkable ambition, talent, and skill, and I am quite positive this won't be the last we'll be hearing from this vibrant new author." - Joshua Ortega (The Other Dead, Gears of War) "Anyone new to the Vampire Western genre should most certainly allow Lourdes's odyssey to be their very first bite." - Matt Hawkins (FORT90, Attract Mode) Cover Design by Eric Maruscak - PepperInk.com Cover Photo by Olivier Le Queinec - Shutterstock.com

A young boy sets out to find and kill the man that murdered his father. The only problem is, the outlaw he pursues, by all accounts, was publicly hanged and buried years ago. He must discover how much truth there is behind his father's death, and whether or not he chases a horrifying reality or just another ghost story. The journey of vengeance may very well lead him to discover the wisdom of the old expression: "If you plot your enemies grave, then you better dig two."

Riverbend, Arizona sits across the Colorado River across from Sagebrush, a Nevada town with a casino and not much else. The side-by-side towns were founded and grew from a rivalry between two families that grows deadly. It's up to reporters Alfredo "Fred" Walker and Richard Walker to sort through the bodies. Walker is a hard-drinking Tex-Mex with four ex-wives and a lot of baggage, and the Tennessee-bred Lawrence brings tons of talent and a lot of attitude to the investigation. Blackjack dealer Diana Cook and her cocktail waitress friend Beth Rodgers join the investigation just as it's getting good. DESERT STORIES is currently in first draft, so the final version will probably look nothing like this. Author Eric Pulsifer may deny ever writing these pages. Oh, well. Life's tough.

A collection of unusual stories that have lived in my mind for a little while now. It's nice to let them come out and play so others can experience these oddities as well. I will be adding stories to it regularly. Hope you find at least one you like and thank you so much for taking the time to read them. tale 1: Little One - The sheriff is sweet on Miss Lizzie Mae, but he doesn't know about her 'little one' yet. tale 2: Choo choo time - A misunderstanding not only puts Gerald Thompkins on trial but makes him the joke of the courtroom.

Amanda Bradshaw, a librarian from modern day New York City, is suddenly transported to Calico, a small 1880s era western town. Without warning, she becomes the new schoolmarm in Calico instead of a librarian. Bewildered by this sudden change in scene, she is befriended by the sheriff, Austen Riley, and a sympathetic saloon owner named Lil. Riley is a man with dark secrets and an axe to grind with rancher Matt Mallory, who turns Amanda's life inside out. Matt is handsome, determined to win her as his wife, but his shady reputation leaves a lot to be desired. Still, Amanda is attracted to him as they flirt and tease, argue and banter their way towards love. As Matt, Amy, and Matt's young daughter, Molly, struggle to become a family, Marshall Riley plans to destroy Matt and claim Amy for his own. But how can Amy prove Matt's innocence to the one man who wants him dead?
