This is an outline version of my story, as such it may not be well written and contain several portions where people and places do not have names only placeholders, which will be written in CAPITAL LETTERS. Names may also change while writing as well as plot points. I aim to post every couple of days as such some chapters will be posted incomplete and added to. I have lost work previously in both onedrive and googledocs, which is one of the reasons I am posting on here and other site; the other is to garner interest.
Bastards are unsightly, a stain on a houses good name, not something that good ladies and noblemen should ever have to see.
This truth had been instilled into Alistair for as long as he could remember, a mantra repeated to him by every cook, maid and guard that called his uncle's castle home. Alistair's days are spent earning his keep, fetching water, cleaning floors, even acting as prey when it came to the newest litter of hounds; whatever duties were required to earn his meal and straw bed; grateful that his uncle didn't send him away when he killed his lady mother in the birthing bed.
One day however Alistair's world changes, when with the arrival of Queen Rosella and Lord Elias, he discovers that he is not the bastard son of a stable hand but of the recently assassinated King Arthur, and is rushed away to the capital for his own safety, many fearing that the assassination wasn't just to target the king but the entire royal bloodline.
As Alistair learns his new role as a prince he also learns many truths, such as what really happened 10 years ago during the rebellion to end the kingdoms occupation, how his parents came together and why he and his half-brother are now targets to the same assassins that murdered their father.
