Minds never stops turning. Deeply introspective and endlessly curious, often feels like an outsider in a world that moves too fast. While others navigate life with ease, you're lost in your thoughts-wondering, questioning, and reflecting on the complexity of everything around you.

Avery is the oldest daughter. Normally, the hardship of being the oldest ends in college. You get to escape, live your own life, and meet someone you can love. Avery was lucky enough that she would never have to experience those things (can you hear the sarcasm?) and she is instead responsible for keeping her five younger siblings alive during the worst possible apocalypse. Along the way, she learns who she can and cannot trust. Sometimes the most broken people are the only people who can hold you up. Sometimes you have to be a little broken yourself before you can become better. (Unfortunately) ----------------------------------------------------------------- I think if Covid taught me anything, it's that supermarkets are the first thing to go. The shelves get emptied and anyone who didn't get there first goes without toilet paper for the next several months. Only this time, the shelves weren't going to be restocked. This time, it wouldn't just be the toilet paper that would be gone. "Emmie, where are you going," asked Raya. She looked up at me with her big brown eyes from behind the pantry door. Raya was three years old. She barely understood what was going on. I stuffed some bungee cords into my backpack from the top shelf.

Luna Stella Duvall has always been the dependable one-the bright, unwavering force her family leans on and the friend everyone assumes will always be there. Balancing work, family, and friendships, she navigates life with a smile, always putting others first. Once, she dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. Once, she believed she could carve out a future of her own. But when her father's business collapsed and his sudden illness shook their family, Luna had to step up. She tells herself it's temporary, that one day things will get easier, that one day she'll have time for herself. Between chasing responsibilities and holding on to fading friendships, Lune wonders how long can she keep moving forward without losing herself along the way? A heartfelt story of love, sacrifice, and the moments that shape us, Chasing the Light explores the quiet battles we fight and the dreams that refuse to fade.

Two sides of a string ready to meet. Kyaire and Azahni are two 10th graders. Both of them have been through so much a child shouldn't have to go through. Azahni, she had a decent set up. The clothes, shoes, good education, almost everything a kid could ask for. The things that happened to her though. Those were things that broke her slowly and slowly until she wasn't her anymore. Kyaire, he didn't have a great beginning. His parents were both alcoholics. His mother died, and his dad was barely ever around, and we he was it wasn't good for Kyaire. He had to learn to grow up very early. Azahni and Kyaire have crossed paths many times. When they finally stop and notice each other they can build each other back up. Let them be the child they never got to be. They will be each other's antidote.

Renee- Being the oldest daughter has never been an easy responsibility especially when you have an abusive dad. It either feels like bricks tied to your feet pulling you to the bottom of the ocean. Or you're just there yes there's happy moments with my siblings but the fight never ends for us. this is my senior year and it's getting harder to hide the bruises. To hide how exhausted we all are. Maybe One day we can escape to save my siblings from this life that they never deserved and to give them one they do. Mason- Being the youngest has its perks like you're pretty much invisible until your siblings grow up and move out. My parents expect to much i have to be perfect just like my brothers. Perfect scores perfect posture perfect room i could go on. And since it's my senior year it's gotten worse with the pressure of colleges. Sometimes i forget who i am i pretend to be my siblings for so long just to make my parents happy and then just for a moment i forget who i really am. Maybe one day i could just leave and be myself do what i want fulfill my dreams.

NOTE: THE STORY WILL UNDERGO A FEW CHANGES AT THE MOMENT. The Ghost of My Father is a slow-burn psychological story about Kaia, a girl beginning to suspect that something is deeply wrong in her home. From the outside, her family looks perfect: a quiet manor, a respected father, a younger sister, and a string of nannies who never seem to last. But Kaia's instincts won't quiet down. Something is unsettling in the way her father moves, how he watches, how he always knows what to say. It isn't normal. Or maybe it is-and she's the one who isn't. This isn't just a story about catching a killer (or maybe it is). It's about what happens when you grow up under someone you can't quite understand-until you do. And by then, you might already be too much like them. Note: This is a work in progress. Chapters may change as the story moves forward.
