Oldestsibling Stories

Noah is the middle child-quiet, reliable, and forgotten. While his older sister Ellie and younger brother Max bask in their parents' love and attention, Noah is left in the shadows, doing chores, excelling in school, fixing what's broken, and asking for nothing. Birthdays pass unnoticed. Achievements are brushed aside. Apologies fall from his lips like rain, even when he's done nothing wrong. When their grandparents visit unexpectedly, expecting to find the same old pattern of neglect, they instead witness something shifting-something quiet, but powerful. Ellie begins to notice the repaired things. Max realizes who's been doing his homework. Their parents, once blind, start to see the boy who never asked to be seen. Slowly, painfully, lovingly, Noah becomes more than the child in the middle. He becomes the thread that holds them together.

This is just a place to put my rants. That's all. UPDATED 10/13/15: I'm adding a poem here because I don't want to open up another book. I don't know if I'll write more "poetry," so the title may change somewhere down the line. UPDATE 12-5-15: The title changed. The book will still have rants, but more will be added, obviously. First Cross sibling diary.

I hate love so damn much. I never thought there was such thing as it. My parents have been married since my mom was 19 and my dad was 24. I am the oldest, since my older sister died when she was twenty-two, four years ago. My parents are always so busy working. The pretty much own the Armed Detective Agency now and are always working late nights. I can never go out and hang out with my friends or even go grocery shopping without my younger brothers, Ace, Abel, and Azriel. And they're a nightmare. And I can't even go on a date because of my dad. He said he "would have to personally get to know the man before him and I can date" which I think is stupid. Because he was in love with my mom when she was 17 and he was 22. But now, I might have a change of heart about love...
