This story focuses on King Jaehaerys I and the Good Queen Alysanne's three eldest living children: Aemon, Baelon and Alyssa. The story commences accurately and paying homage to canon, then shows a series of events that could have befallen. Much detail has been paid to match canon and the tone of source material. Just a generation before Westeros would have suffered 'the Dance of the Dragons' another succession war complicates the Targaryen dynamics. The story commences a week prior to Baelon and Alyssa's union.

It was the natives who named Dragonstone, the Valyrians agreed out of convenience. There's a tale, all the children know of it, the tale of the lady of dragonstone. The widows call her a witch, the boys say she is a whore who sleeps with beasts, the girls say she's one of the children but everyone knows she's the lady of dragonstone.
