Overcoming that Hill
Michael Olise x fem OC
"And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get Him to swap our places
Be runnin' up that road
Be runnin' up that hill
Be runnin' up that building"
Running Up that Hill, Kate Bush
Jessie Riley's life in Hayes, London, hardly ever deviated from the routine she had carved out for herself. She works in a record shop, repairs instruments, and occasionally makes coffees for the customers.
At 21, she struggles to make ends meet, ignore her homesickness, and survive the completely different pace of life in the bustling city. Amid monotonous days, she finds refuge in friendship and the small kindnesses of her dearest customers, Vincent and Mina.
Little does Jessie know that an invitation to a simple family lunch is about to change her life, bringing her face-to-face with Vincent and Mina's sons: Michael and Richard. Developing a strong friendship and partnership with one and a mild (perhaps not so mild) enmity with the other, love will gradually blossom where she least expected it and with someone she never even imagined.
Yet, between such different worlds, the hardest part will be keeping this love strong, without letting external circumstances get in the way. Traits from both of their personalities and lives will come into play, threatening to drive them apart. They will have to choose between understanding one another, overcoming hills of differences, or putting an end to something that hasn't even begun.
