"Papa? I wish I could love someone that much," I looked up to my grandpa as he gently brushed my hair. He was sitting on the couch, and I was on the floor in the living room, watching a movie I wasn't aware of the title of, while admiring the couples on television who are willing to die for each other as well as defy the social conventions and limitations of this world if they have to. I wish to also hold someone's hand with so much love and affection, but what I hate is the idea of having to let them go. My grandpa always told me that there is love in holding on, but there is also love in letting go. However, I don't like it.
"Someday, young lady. Someday. But don't go out to the world searching for the one for you. Love will find you." He gave me a smile and kissed my forehead.

Belle Saunders is not searching for love. She swore to herself that she would never allow herself to be broken, just like what happened to her parents. She was four when her parents separated. No one even told her what had really happened that night, and they keep it a secret from her to this day. All she knows is that her dad would always come home drunk and beat her mom, and one day they decided to break up. At least that's what was told to her.
What lies ahead when she runs into guys who dare to break the walls she has built in order to protect herself from the pain that love holds? Will she be able to avoid being one of its victims?
