What if Once-ler falls in love and it puts his thneed business in jeopardy, and what if she's not even human? After almost drowning in the river he's saved by a mermaid instead of the Lorax and is mesmerized by her siren song that saved his life. He longs for her just as much as she longs for him and will do whatever it takes to find her again. All he's ever wanted was for his family to finally be proud of him for becoming successful and wealthy, but deep down he wants someone to love him for who he really is, and not for something he's not. Who knew it would be a mermaid? Ariel has always longed for a life that seemed impossible to have, she's always been fascinated with humans and life above the sea. Is she really risking never seeing her father or sisters again to live as a human and fall for a capitalist? The heart wants what it wants. ... Is this a logical story, probably not, but the idea came to me while I was listening to The Little Mermaid soundtrack from the new movie. I got to thinking about it and their stories are kinda similar, they're both longing for something they've never had (in my opinion) and I thought it would be cool to actually combine their stories so they cross paths and fall in love! Maybe it's a stupid idea but I'm really passionate about these two characters and I think they have potential to work. I'm also gonna be using songs by some of my favorite artists throughout my fan fiction, I'm a huge Swifty btw <33 I'm also an 18 year old girl that's a beginner at writing so please be kind! The Onceler fandom is kind of out of hand nowadays, and I have some science behind it.

Vivianne, a 23 year old girl working as the Onceler's secretary (she also happened to be his ex girlfriend, is blinded by the fact that she still loves him even though they broke up almost a year ago. She finds out who he really is and how unfairly he treats nature, the animals, and even his own employees. She makes up a plan to take down him and his company. Things take a very unfortunate turn when her plan succeeds a little too much........
