Death had seen all and done all.
In his thousands of years of existence, there is very little he hadn't come across.
His job is tiring, exhausting, and sometimes he envies his servants who can stay home all day, and do very little work than him.
It's always been like that, always will be.
One day, Death goes about his usual business, and comes across a boy who dies in a terrible accident. The boy makes him remember things he should have long forgotten, and do things he shouldn't be doing at all.
But he can't help it. And maybe. Just maybe. He'll be able to feel a little more human again. Maybe the memories aren't that bad, after all.
