For as long as she can remember, she has always been a mute and because of this many people have stayed clear of her, unable to accept the fact that she cannot reply verbally to them. So, she has kept to herself for most of her life, busying herself with painting. For her benefit, her parents get her into Ouran Academy on an Art scholarship. They believe that here she can blossom and perhaps make some friends while she is there. Kimi is at first indifferent about being at Ouran but after meeting the Host club, her whole world turns inside out; especially when the dark lord and the playful twin take an interest in her. Perhaps you have, but that itself isn't very fun. How about a world that's exactly like ours, except with the Host Club, Izaya Orihara, and futurist K Project with Yu-gi-oh 5Ds concepts? Now, that makes it more interesting. Add in two girls who are slightly psycho in their own ways, and you have an interesting story, especially once the Akatsuki start falling for them.

You'll have to have watched the Ouran Host Club anime before understanding some of the characters...OH and I'm basing the background and stuff off the anime not the manga since I haven't read it. Also, I have characters from Kaichou wa Maid-sama coming up but if you haven't watched or read it, it won't interfere with your understanding of Maiko and Kyoya, but it might be nice to know a little bit about the people who help Maiko.
