Damian's family are all superheroes, with all three of his older brothers being well known within the superhero community which means they're often saving Gotham and the off shoots to the city. Then, one day, to spend time with them, Damian decides the route is to become a villain called Rouge George and life becomes more interesting, or so Damian thinks. Disclaimer - I don't own Young Justice. This is one of my ONC projects for this year. The prompt I am using is prompt eighty-seven, "You come from a family of highly respected heroes. All three of your big brothers are known as powerhouses, but you rarely see them since they're always saving the city. One day you realise that the only way to see all of your brothers is to become a villain. Turns out you're better at it than you thought, and family dinners suddenly become the most amusing time of day." For obvious reasons, that was a difficult one to pass up, but to make it work I didn't just go with the character's as is, but instead decided to go AU with Jason not becoming Red Hood in this and bringing Damian home to Wayne manor at a much earlier age which is what the first few chapters of the novella will cover as this will be important later on. And then the fun begins.

The Fire Nation understands the need for a male heir to Crown Prince Iroh after the death of his son Lu Ten, yet they're far from thrilled with the choice being Prince Zuko, the son of the man who tried killing Fire Lord Azulon, forgetting the boy's father tried killing the young prince as he might be just as unhinged as not only his father but his own sister. This was written for Open Novella 2024 and is a giftfic for my friend Kelsey; it's also an alternative universe to my fanfic series To Lose or To Gain where the Fire Nation doesn't know how unhinged Ozai is and instead thinks he willingly gave his first-born son to his older brother. As for the prompt, I'm using prompt ninty-nine which resulted in this AU popping into my head, "The royal family needs a male heir to the throne, and they're willing to accept any boy, even if he's born to their least hinged relative."

Katara dislikes being confined to the home of her father, the head chieftain of the Southern Water Tribe, after her mother's death and eventually sneaks out in disguise and meets and befriends the nephew of the local tea merchant while remaining unaware of the ramifications of her actions. For this story I am using prompt fifty-five, "you're a young royal in disquise who befriends a villager with a scarred face. One day they are arrested for stealing something you gave to them." Note - While I choose to ignore anything from LoK or the comics that retcons AtLA content I'm not against using content that doesn't, hence the use of existing Southern Water Tribe characters from the comics in addition to creating new ones, but certainly none of this strange idea of a tribe being a colony of another tribe or a tribe voting their chieftain(s) in instead of the tradition of heredity and/or earning the position through ones own merit. As such, the Southern Water Tribe is reverted to an actual sister tribe to the Northern Water Tribe, aka an actual tribe rather than a colony and Hakoda is back to being the head chieftain as implied by what Sokka says about being the equivalent to a prince in his tribe to Princess Yue which, on top of the fact there's no way Hakoda would have gotten that many boats from a single village, indicates Hakoda was always head-chieftain.
