Think Romeo & Juliet in modern age, with superpowers, heroes and villains. :-) This is my entry for the Open Novella Contest 2019. The judges selected this story for the Short List!

A tragic night leaves Dakota filled with guilt, and Luisa, her best friend, with memories she'll never recover from. After a not guilty verdict from the school's conduct board against Luisa's attacker, Dakota, aka Coco, takes matters into her own hands. Armed with nothing but her art supplies and her position as the comic strip artist for the school's paper, Coco finds ways to expose the corruption in the school's conduct system. However, her obsession with justice leads her discover more about herself than she hoped, and could jeopardize her friendship with the very person she wanted to save.

Liberty Davis is just a typical fangirl who loves superheroes. Despite the millions of comics, games, movies, and TV series in existence, CW's Arrow, based off of DC Comic's Green Arrow, is her favorite. A trip to Comic-Con gives her an unexpected surprise as she meets the Roy Harper. With Roy's help, Liberty will become someone else, something else.
