"Are you my Karma in a masquerade, punishing me for my sins, while I was falling in love with you?" Nicholas cried, stepping closer. I withered by the sofa as he flooded his glass with wine, it's scarlet staining the trail of struggle betwixt us. His drunken face plastered with a forceful smirk that failed to hide his painful eyes, as he raised his glass at me. "I raise a toast to your successful pretentiousness." "My lie was hiding my truth, but my love wasn't. And the truth is, I don't deserve to love or be loved. You fell in love with everything about me, yet not me," I confessed, as tears seeped down my eyes, filling my empty glass. He crashed his heavy body on mine, as his wine drained down my transparent shirt stripping my misfit identity. His hands tugged at my skirt, unzipping it, as I held him midway. "No-" I hissed. "I fell in love with a human. But you were only a delusion," Arjun expressed. ••••• ❝To bully or be bullied, to love and yet be hated- The third gender only knows the extremes.❞ Things have never been simple for Karnika aka Karn, a trans person who identifies as 'female'. And life takes a turn when she is forced to juggle as a male and a female, in and outside school. To complicate things further, her love Arjun knows both Karn and Karnika, but as two different individuals. As the yarn of her dual life unfurls intertwining her in its threads of complications, how long can she withhold her truth from the love of her life? 18 in #transgirl (28.04.19)

It used to be tradition, to tell the children stories of the gods that lived down in the river. It had been generations since those stories had even closely resembled the truth, but they lingered, until finally they were no longer told at all. Kenzie was never told these stories, so he has his own concerns when his younger sister, Tara, disappears. Was she bitten by a snake? Has she broken her leg, and gotten stranded somewhere far from home? Was she kidnapped by the strange woman who recently appeared in town? But Tara has stumbled across something else entirely, something she has never known even to imagine. The siblings' attempts to find each other will uncover a world of secrets- legends forgotten, in more ways than one.

Greetings Dear Reader, My name is Lorimer Graveskeeper. I am a paranormal detective who spends his time nosing around old bookstores, apothecaries, and catacombs as well as observing (and often escaping from) zombie attacks, witches' gatherings, and vampire rites. This account of the terrible happenings in Saul, Arizona is my own. I happened upon this strange, spectral city after escaping from a malevolent spirit at my previous lodgings in the state of Washington. I was drawn to the remote town both because of its lack of inhabitants and its remote location in the middle of the desert. I was hoping for a few months reprieve from the ghosts that pursued me around the country, and what I found there is contained in the pages of this short novel. Within you will learn of a copper mine with a violent history, a poisoning, an unprovoked attack, multiple limb amputations, and a bitter thirst for revenge from beyond the grave. I urge you to keep an open mind and a tightly locked door.

~Participating in Open Novella II, Romance Fiction: Prompt 5~ "I'm back," he says, an unnatural smirk decorating his face. He never looked at me in that way, his gaze traveling up and down my figure as if I was even remotely desirable. He licks his lips and looks into my eyes. "Did you miss me?" My eyes harden. "I don't know who you are anymore." I hope my words cut deep, but they don't. He chuckles and then whispers, "But, I still know who you are. And this whole facade of happiness you put up... I see right through it. So, let's not play games with each other. I've missed you, Cora. And I definitely know, given our history, that you've missed me." - Cora was the ship, threatening to sail off into the infinite tumultuous waters of her mind, and Elijah was her anchor. When he abandoned her, she was left to her own devices, and all too many times almost sank. Right when she convinced herself she didn't need him, he came back into her life, with unexpected secrets, and as a completely altered person. She wants nothing to do with him, him only bringing back memories she's fought to forget. But he wants back in her life, and will fight to become more than just an anchor.

"I wanted to give this to you in person," Anubis said, taking a step closer to the girl who was evidently petrified. He handed her a crisp white envelope that had his name written in a cursive scrawl. With shaky hands, Zaina took the envelope. Not knowing what to do, she performed an awkward curtsy which was met with a hearty laugh from the god. He lifted her chin with a finger and grinned that heart-stopping grin once more. Anubis trailed the finger up her jaw and laid it beneath her ear. "I'll see you around," he whispered, ghosting his lips over the shell of her ear. He stood up and walked away as though he had not made a long lasting impact on the young girl before him. After taking a few breaths to calm herself, Zaina opened the envelope.
