A geeky young doctor enlists the help of an uninvited supernatural guest to win the heart of his long-time crush before she gets swept off her feet by their Mr. Perfect boss. ***** Asher Jansen is one of the many new resident doctors that have joined St. Bernard Hospital. In sync with his luck, there's a freaking pandemic. Hello Covid-19! He doesn't mind working 80+ hours a week and his daily main source of nutrition being a protein shake and instant noodles. Not at all when he gets to work alongside his secret crush, the girl of his dreams, the beautiful and smart yet friendly, Kaylee Fisher. The only problem is Kaylee only has eyes for their medical director Jacob Parker. Okay, that's a lie. Aside from Kaylee already liking someone else, Asher is probably the gold standard of dorks that sports super thick glasses and rotates between only two pairs of chucks. So yeah, zero fashion sense. But all that changes when a certain grim reaper takes a vacation on Earth and borrows Asher's body. The term 'borrow' here being used very loosely. I love the Open Novella Contest for finding new stories by authors I've never met before and I'd love to share some authors with you that maybe you have never found before. This book will be slowly filled with authors and books of all genres and styles and places in the writing journey. I do believe every book in here has something special to be shared, and I hope the variety allows you to find some things you like. My intention is to keep this book updated with books currently updating, whether they remain in the contest or not, because I think the ultimate goal of having a complete story at the end is the most important part, regardless of the success in the judging rounds.

When Blair was invited by her friends, or rather say people who used to be her friends, she didn't exactly knew what to expect, but as a ticking clock is indicating she is running out of time, she decided it wouldn't hurt to see some familiar faces for one last time maybe. The thing is, when such circumstances arise, no one knows, not even Blair who could've calculated everything that what could memories and old heartbreaks bring to the table?

What do you do when you find a dead soldier from the opposing kingdom just when the Declaration of Peace was about to be signed? Hide the dead body, of course. Super soldier twins Petra and Peter made two mistakes: one is burying a dead body instead of telling people that they found the soldier dead, and the other is getting caught while doing it. Now that the peace of Royisa and Nuryyn are on the line, they have to prove that they weren't the ones who killed the soldier. It's not easy, especially since people from their opposing kingdom seem to be doing anything to show that they killed the soldier. But as they investigate, they realize that the soldier may not be exactly who he seems, and that the motives for his death might just be something else other than war. However, one thing was certain. All it takes for twenty-one year old Elizabeth Miller to see into the depths of your soul - or rather, your future - is to look into your eyes. Well, that's to put it simply. In reality, she has absolutely no control over this, what do you call it - Superpower? Curse? It just happens randomly. So it shouldn't surprise her all too much when one day she connects with her own eyes in the mirror and sees the complicated answer to a math problem that has stumped experts for decades, let alone her math professor. In the 21st century, we're challenged with many a problem, beginning with the pandemic, hurricanes, earthquakes, climate change, and so on. One cannot survive unless equipped with some knowledge of the basic structure of the planet earth. Even the cleverest of the citizens are taken for a ride by the politicians. Migrating to different places or even to the next planet is not the solution. That may pose a doubt if we're on the extinct stage. Of course, it'd be combated as the matter can neither be destroyed nor created as it takes into different entities. An attempt has been made to highlight the plight of present-day people. I take this pleasant opportunity to throw light on certain intricacies and how to become wholesome in harnessing life on earth. I have lived through different phases and have adequate knowledge of earth sciences. Perseverance perhaps benefits at the end, as has been exemplified in this novella "THE INHERITANCE."
