'"Emelia, who taught you that song!" He was becoming impatient. "Th-the Angel of M-music...he taught me..." She stammered, her father almost never raised his voice. "Do not joke, Emelia! The Angel of Music is just a joke! He does not truly exist!" The yelling grew louder and she shrank back in fear. "Why did you keep this from me?"' Forget the description, just read the story. While visiting your father's workplace in 19th century France, you find yourself having to rush inside in of the Opera Populaire during a stormy night, for... obvious reasons. And that seemed fine. After all- aside from the sleeping ballerinas and a few other people, there wasn't supposed to be anyone around. Much less, walking around... However, that doesn't seem to be the case. You are quick to be whisked away by a masked stranger. After he fixes you up and allows you to stay the night with him, a powerful friendship begins to spark between the two of you, and you soon become an apprentice to the ever-so-famous opera ghost. You seem to know more about the events in the opera house than anyone else does- Christine Daaé, Joseph Buquet, Meg Giry, and even her own mother. You seem to hold as much knowledge as the man who brought you there. All seems well for a while. The operas, parties, drinking, and love triangles continue on as if nothing happened... That is, until you realize that you're in love with that man clad in black. *** Note: This story begins at around the same time that the musical does - when managers André and Firmin first take charge of the opera house. I tried to stay true to most of the story line, but there will be a few minor changes.

"My, Angel." she replied. Not knowing why someone as talented and brilliant as him hid in the shadows. But she was selfish. On the night the Opera Populaire was consumed by fire, Erik rode into the wilderness on horseback, discovering an expansive castle that... Belonged to him? He lived there, all alone... Until Christine happened to show up at his doorstep. But why was she there? Where was Raoul? What if Erik and Christine both had... A fatal flaw? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Other Information: • In introducing Erik to Christianity in this fanfiction, I do not mean to play the part of God. "Fatal Flaw" is just a fictional story, and I really wanted to see Erik find the Light. In real life, however, only the Lord can make this happen. • The characters in this story belong to their rightful owners (such as Gaston Leroux and Victor Hugo), not to me. All I've done is taken them and written a fanfiction about them.

"Night is the mask that protects the will of the devil." "I was only curious." "Curiosity is no sin. But don't go looking for it in the wrong places." ... The past does not always stay in the past. Nicolette Beaulieu, by clumsy curiosity, discovered the journal of the ancestor from whom she is descended, Nicolette Donnadieu, otherwise known to Paris as the L'oiseau chanteur silencieux (The Silent Songbird). From the Songbird's days of gloom to her nights spent in glory, the Songbird has mapped out her entire existence from 1864 and on in the folds of a single journal, her only means of escaping the bright lights and public appeal. And the ghostly legend. Unfortunately, there is more to her story than what lies within the pages. The story of the songbird remains incomplete, and yet the family has carried on this far in the world. With the knowledge of a curse on the family, a mission to return pride to the family name, and the Songbird's known relation with the legendary Phantom of the Opera, Nicolette Beaulieu must venture into the realm of the phantom's domain and find anything relating to her disappearance. And perhaps meet a few friends along the way, and an old enemy.
