After a failed cure for a virus goes wrong, an even worse virus is sent out into the world, wiping out nearly all who succumb to its disease. The Forward Assembly for Enduring Fate, or FAE operatives are sent forward to help the people survive this crisis as they continue to search for any clue as to how this infection arose from seemingly nowhere. We go into the perspective of Nathaniel Ringwood as he goes through his fight against the virus, and even the people he swore to protect. All places in the story will be changed in some way, and any relation to real life events are purely coincidental.

Venus knows she shouldn't have these feelings, but what can a teenage girl do about her feelings? She tries to distance herself but Mercury won't have it. Can they make things work or will they be forced to ruin a long-time friendship?
