Every since the world changed, beasts have owned the night time. Men and women who have lost control over their humanity, who have gone insane, have turned into incredible Giant Cats, bigger than any wild cat out there. The thing is, they only come out at night to hunt and feed on unsuspecting prey. Though there are laws to keep everyone safe, there are few who resent and rebel, staying out past curfew. Rowan Faust, a girl merely 17 years old, lives by herself. Her parents death was caused by one of the creatures when they were heading home to their 6 year old daughter. For 11 years, she has stayed alone. For 11 years she has kept herself safe, kept her home safe. When a cruel act of Fate leaves her outside passed curfew, what will happen? What will happen when she meets these cruel people? Will she fight against, finding her way to safety? Or will she finally become apart of a family she thought she would never find?

In a battle against RiverClan in order to help WindClan, Whitepaw is badly injured and close to death although most cats don't know the full truth of her injuries. Because of a broken leg and missing ear, she is kept in the medicine den for 2 moons unable to get her warrior name at the same time as her brother. In the battle, both her adoptive mother and who she knew as her father were killed. Once she had gained her warrior name, Mistyeye, the old medicine cat got really sick and in her last moments she revealed to Whiteriver who her real father is. After a bit of time, she convinced Bravepelt and herself to go and look for him. Will she find him? Is it everything she was hoping for?
