This is an excerpt out of my book, Mortimer. This is just to give readers a quick taste of my writing. This is chapter six of my book; in which Ashley Corles meets the adventuring band, The Eagle's Pride. Can he prove himself worthy of joining the group and catch the attention of Winnie King, their Battle-mage? The cover was drawn by me. Please enjoy!

Kuro Braav is the revered sheriff of Huron, well-known for his centuries of fearless service within the task-force. However, one case he was forced to close was that of Mia Vanton, a girl who mysteriously vanished without a trace and was never recovered. When a temporal assassin by the name of Cthugha emerges out of nowhere and alerts him of an oncoming doomsday on the date of her case's twentieth anniversary, he quickly begins to think that he is out of his depth. Saving a district is one thing; saving the world is another.
