Set after season 1, episode 7 of House of the Dragon. diverges from canon afterward, including several events aboard the ship. The King hopes that having his youngest son raised alongside his half-sister and her children will strengthen the fragile ties between the two sides of his family, and perhaps prevent an upcoming Dance of the Dragons. Gwayne Hightower is commanded to escort Daeron to Dragonstone as his sworn shield. Gwayne and Daeron are forced into circumstances neither of them anticipated, finding themselves surrounded by the very people their family may be at war with, in the days to come. What was meant to be a simple journey to Dragonstone quickly becomes a venture into enemy territory. As tensions between the Greens and the Blacks escalate, Daeron must navigate a household that deems him untrustworhty, while Gwayne struggles to protect him without provoking the Blacks.
