Despite being born within wedlock, Sayyam had been abandoned by his mother, Mrs Suhani Birla, who, after giving him birth, had left him in an orphanage, forgotten about his existence, and gone back to live her life as Yuvraj Birla's wife - the man sentenced to jail for the murder of Sayyam's father. Now, after two and a half decades, Sayyam - who had lived his life in an orphanage, after finding out the supposed truths - had enough of being the only one who was suffering. Intending to take revenge and along with millions of questions, Sayyam barged into Birlas' lives like a hurricane, discovered himself, the whole truth, and learned to love and to be loved. Krishna was an orphan who couldn't claim to be one as she was loved by the Birlas, or at least, by some of them. With her father missing before her birth, and no memory of her dead mother, it was easy for her to see Suhani as her mother figure, and accept Birlas as her only family. Sheltered by Suhani's overly protective nature, nurtured by the wisdom of Dadi, she lived her life as Yuvaan's sidekick. Yet suppressed under Suhani's wings, Krishna hadn't known how to fight on her own or for herself until Sayyam came into her life like a storm, turning everything upside down. Sayyam, to her, was a force of nature, rage in persona, a wounded animal to pay caution to. Within days of knowing her, he had forced her out of her meekness by cornering her enough for her to fight back. Whenever he snapped at her for walking into him, taunting her for her lack of backbone, a fire sparked within her that made her fight back, harder than their last fight, forcing her to discover a hidden side of her: she had a voice, could scream, could be vindictive, could plot and plan, be restless with the urge to hurt someone. Together, bound by an act of revenge, they discover how similar they are in their pain, loneliness, longing, and in their desire to be accepted. * Book Cover by @_khusiyaan_ Fandom - Suhani Si Ek Larki

Main characters are not mine. Ownership and credit goes to DC and Rick Riordan. Art is not mine, that credit goes to @Catchildhb This story will have trigger warnings in every chapter that requires them, but for the major ones that pop up often, those will likely be topics like homelessness, abuse, neglect, internalized and externalized homophobia, violence, non-consensual druggings(like Gotham drugs, Joker Venom and stuff), etc. Enjoy. This will probably be more Damian-centric, because I'm trying to branch out and that just feels right, but I'll never actually know until I write it :3 Have fun. *** *** *** The Waynes picked up strays. That was a fact, a well-known fact. Damian had always thought he'd be the one picking up, though. Eventually, at least. He already picked up animals, true strays, not like the human strays his siblings joked about. He'd never expected to be picked up by a stray, though. Damian Wayne and Nico di Angelo had a bit too much in common. Cold fathers. Growing up alone. Finding it hard to truly connect, to truly be what others wanted them to be. There was one difference, though. Damian had a family. Yes, they were not great. Yes, they made him feel like an outsider in all but the best of times. But he had a family. Surely, they would miss him should he leave. Nico didn't have that anymore. He'd lost it. All of it. In what seemed like an instant. And the most difficult thing of all is trying to work through that, and possibly build up from the Hell he'd found himself in, again. Maybe they could do that together.

Family isn't always born. Sometimes, it's chosen. Raised in the same orphanage, Karan and Roshini grow up with nothing but resilience and an unbreakable bond. With no blood to bind them, they learn early that real relationships are forged through loyalty, trust, and shared survival. Together, they form a formidable duo-he rules with power, she with truth. Bound by their past and driven by purpose, they redefine family, proving that the strongest bonds are not written in blood, but etched in the heart. But their greatest legacy is not their influence or reputation-it is the family they create. As parents, Karan and Roshini raise their children on a belief they once lived by: family is defined by love, not blood. Their home becomes a sanctuary, built on protection, honesty, and the promise that their children will never feel the abandonment they once did. This is a story of orphans who redefine belonging, of strangers who become family, and of parents who turn their past pain into a future rooted in strength, truth, and unconditional love. A powerful story of chosen family, legacy, and the bonds that begin in the heart.

Greed, by definition alone, is an intense desire for wealth, power, or food. But I believe it's that raw emotion that sticks to your throat like a thick cloud of cotton just when you've lost everything. That obsession of wanting to keep everything you once had all to yourself again. To be more precise, it's that dark thought that enraptures your mind when you watch everything burn into nothing but ash. A remnant of the memory of what you once held. Of what you once had. "What if... I had kept it all to myself?" Some will call it denial. Some will call it grief. But I? I call it Greed. And I finally did it. I found the perfect candidate to become my Pedestal of Greed. His name? Kenzo Thorne.

In a small orphanage in Vrindavan, life was never easy. The walls were cracked, the food was never enough, and kindness was something the children learned to survive without. Yet somehow, between punishments, hunger, school chaos, and sleepless nights, Ruhani still smiled. Warm-hearted, mischievous, and quietly strong, Ruhani had a habit of carrying pain as if it weighed nothing at all. And beside her was Raya- loud, dramatic, fiercely protective, and the only person who could turn Ruhani's worst days into laughter. Together, they survive cruel wardens, endless trouble, stolen pani puri nights, unfinished homework, and a world that never gave them much to begin with. But even in a life filled with struggles, the two girls continue to find small pieces of happiness in each other. Because sometimes, the people with the heaviest hearts still learn how to laugh the loudest. .

Keith's worst experience in life comes back to haunt him when the paladins take a leave from the Castle of Lions only to find themselves stuck performing a mission for the garrison involving four runaway kids. The fact the Galra recaptured Shiro did not help either. Disclaimer - I don't own Voltron: Legendary Defender or Boxcar Children. This is written for my 2017 prompt challenge for prompt number 182, which involves crossing over ones fandom of choice with a fandom from the 1940s. The fanfic is AU for the Boxcar Children series both in time, and how the events end in the first book. Keith does something stupid in this one.
