A novel retelling of the classic Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, written from the perspective of both Orpheus and Eurydice. Orpheus is the son of Apollo, the God of Music and the Muse Calliope, the Goddess of Epics. From his early years, he is exceptionally skilled in singing and playing the lyre - even more so than his divine Father. Orpheus has to deal with his insecurities, the struggles of being a Demigod in a mortal world and the detriments of fame and love when he meets the sweet exiled musician Eurydice. Eurydice is a star musician banished from her homeland of Aethiopia. She stumbled upon the ravishing Cult of the Wine God Dionysus and finally meets Orpheus. Inspired by Madeline Miller's The Song of Achilles & Circe and Jennifer Saint's Ariadne.

This is the story of Orpheus and Eurydice as told in Anaïs Mitchell's album "Hadestown" and stage adaptation. In depression era New Orleans, young Orpheus and Eurydice fall in love but Eurydice dreams of a better life than the poverty she grew up in, which Orpheus cannot give her. When Eurydice is lured away to the eponymous "Hadestown" with promises of comfort and security, Orpheus sets out to get her back.

A retelling of old classics, and the creation of new stories to be told. . The year is 3015. In a world ruled by Gods, Aubrey Santiago finds himself being the lone wolf in every situation. Haunted by the weight of torment and knowledge, he knows that the system is corrupt and that his superiors are up to something wicked. When a secret so catastrophic gets out and Aubrey becomes the first to learn it, he realizes that the end is near for not only him, but for his fellow humans- or at least, what remnants of humanity he are left. With no where to go, Aubrey finds himself trusting those once deemed untrustworthy in an attempt to escape Olympus and help save what little of the population remains unscathed by the hands of the Gods, even if it means rioting against the very system that kept him alive all this time. Ah, yes. The timeless questions about mortality and death. You have long been interested in existential questions, which in turn, gave you existential dread. This was a recurring pattern that left your guardians, your sisters and friends looking at you very disturbed and confused but nonetheless very supportive. You indulge yourself in these questions, wanting to know more what happens to life after death, and if there is indeed a life after death. Or if people just ... cease to exist. You often read up on myths and stories and literatures regarding the exploration of the afterlife and the underworld. Travel to the underworld, descriptions of what it might look like, the works. One of your current favorites is The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, but more specifically; the first half of the trilogy entitled the The Inferno. The other is the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Morbid and macabre as it is, according to one of your sisters, all is well. Until you find yourself in the dark woods with essentially no memory of what just happened before you got transported here. === I know I am terribly late, but if you knew me personally, I adore classical literature and existential questions. So it happens, a dear friend introduced me to OTGW. I adored the series and all of my friends in Discord collectively watch me tweak out when I realized what the show was alluding to. That was an experience; and at 2am, no less. An experience I never forgot, and an experience that led me to the creation of this book. This would be the very first time I'd be tackling the task of writing in existential themes. Also, I would like to say that Reader here is a female and has a name, but it's a temporary name; which means your name is still canon in this book!
