Two elderly scientists hide a dark secret. Twenty-five years earlier they were part of a UK government which legalised all recreational drugs. After only two years, the controversial law, 'The Fairfield Act,' was repealed. The aftermath was disastrous. Now, it is 2042. The past does not exist. The UK is part of the Northern Zone, controlled from London-Centre, a utilitarian megacity rebuilt for the new order. Citizens in the Northern Zone live only according to the Chairman's Prime Directives. They've lost the ability to create. For them, pleasure is a forgotten emotion. 'The Inhibited' is a futuristic tale following the life of Declan Smith, a young aggrieved student intent on uncovering the truth. Smith believes the key to political change lies in understanding the past, but he soon finds out the greater challenge is the discovery of his own soul. Military #656 from 900+ Kaito was new to the highly revered Peace Department, an government and military associated department working to keep the country in order and in its absolute peace status quo. In his supposed first mission to foil a planned terrorist attack, the department was fed with false report nearly resulting in a complete annihilation of the elite team. In the wake of this danger, the department then decided to restart project S.U.T.S, a project to develop medicine that would gave birth to super soldiers. It was a straightforward plan, if only the original super soldier did not try to protect Kaito, if only the boy did not realise the truth behind the project, and if the traitor did not come from within the Peace Department itself. Shadow Under the Sun is a 61,000 words speculative fiction, a blend between thriller, action, and discussion on politics and governance set in a fictional dystopian country. The story follows the main character as he went from a nationalist to a rebel who plays a role in overthrowing the current totalitarian government. The setting of the country itself was subtly made in reference to the totalitarian New Order (Orde Baru) era in my home country, Indonesia.

I was asked to write a story as an assignment for the literature class, which revolved around the theme of dystopia after reading and analyzing in-depth the famous Orwellian masterpiece '' 1984 ''. The book inspired me to write this story which has a parallel level of totalitarianism, subdue and opression. This short story revolves around a character with the pseudo name '' Hazel '' which follows a sequel of events that pushes her upward the ladder of this corrupt society where freedom has no room. Hazel , the apt brainy character , develops a personnality that allows her to lure and attract to get there where she desires.

USSA: 2035 is a prophetic horror-dystopia forged from the ashes of 9/11, the silence of political assassinations, and the rising smoke of a nation collapsing under its own surveillance empire. In a future where freedom is criminal, loyalty is enforced, and history has been rewritten, one whisper could ignite a war. Some books warn you. This one remembers you. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Any similarities to real-world events, people, or systems are purely intentional... and entirely fictional.

Imagine a world where human life is meaningless. A world where people come from conveyor belts in factories and where everyone is engineered with a single purpose in mind. A place where your life is valued only when you do your job and do it well, and where the moment you outlive your use the asphyxiation sets in. A world where your purpose is defined by what you look like, and where wars can start because someone, somewhere, was bored. This is Arksiane. Consider in this world another power. A power that thrives on anarchy, rather than order. A land that embodies the phrase 'meritocracy' in the truest sense, where people are judged only by their actions--and in some cases, enslaved by them. This is Outland. Although it may seem like a war of black and white, the actions of all will color the pool, and soon it will be only gray. ***
