Hopefully when my writing is more detailed I can confidently use those sets of pronouns and still feel it is easy to understand the subject.

I squint my eyes real tight, convinced that Kylo Ren was about to strike. Then, suddenly, I hear the drop of an object. I open my eyes to see someone different than the man I saw just moments ago. "Ben," I breathe out before he takes my face in his hands and smashes his lips into mine.
