Shuichi Saihara is a shy, slim high schooler from NYC. His life is going nowhere until he meets Kokichi Ouma, a messy, strange man with a passion for lying. Kokichi takes an instant liking to Shuichi and the things he did in school, wheras Shuichi was uncertain. However, when fellow students try to kidnap, kill Shuichi, Kokichi springs to the rescue. Shuichi begins to notices that Kokichi is actually rather brave at heart, yet that may cause him trouble, that he doesn't even see coming... But, the pressures of Kokichi's job as a teacher leave him blind to Shuichi's affections until something happens to him, and he turns into a forbidden, a demon, who lives off other's love and energy. How will Kokichi manage to keep his devil side hidden away, and keep his forbidden love for a human locked away, especially as Shuichi is years younger than him?
