What if Robin was a girl and Regina was a man? This is a reverse retelling of the Outlaw Queen ship. King Reginald is in need of a queen and Outlaw Robin is in need of a royal heart to steal. Robin wants to help her merry band of witches so that they can live their lives in peace. When she hears about King Reginald's ball and his need to find a queen she devices a plan to join him and steal his heart before another can. This will give her the power to free the witches from being persecuted. But will she get there in time before another steals his heart or, worse, her own? King Reginald has been informed by his advisors of his need for not only a queen, but an heir. He goes along with it but quite frankly sees no need for it. He'd prefer to find someone that he'd be willing to rule his kingdom with. Will he find it in someone unexpected? Told in duel point of view. Warning: This is a rough draft! "Seek," they commanded, dropping the leashes. The night-stalkers shot forward and I turned on my heel and fled, cloak whipping out behind me. I dodged around the startled tapkeeper and sprinted for the back door. The howls screamed after me as I flung open the door and sprinted blindly into a solid chest. I fell back into a fighting stance, dagger appearing in my hands. "Move," I snarled. He crossed his arms and smirked. "You're head is worth a lot, girl." I twisted around him, but his hand reached out a hand and snagged my cloak. I growled and snaked an arm around his neck, vaulting over his shoulders. He gagged and stumbled off-balance, right onto my dagger, the blade slipping between his ribs. I held him upright in a lover's embrace as his eyes clouded. He slumped to the ground. "Who are you?" he choked out, a bright smear of blood bubbling past his lips. I bowed low with a wicked grin. "The name's Robyn. Sonic has been hunting down Shadow for years. Shadow is an infamous wanted criminal, the money rewarded in his bounty would completely turn around the small, run down town Sonic lived in. Sonic sought to capture Shadow and turn him in for the money. Shadow has been living the outlaw life for years, and he has grown accustomed to it. He and his gang lived for the thrill of stealing and harming anyone that got in their way. However, that all changed when they raided the wrong village. Sonic managed to capture Shadow during his raid and held him captive in prison over night before setting forth on his journey to the large town that was a few days ride away from the small village. During their journey, things quickly turned south. A thunderstorm poured down on them and the thunder spooked Sonic's horse, making it slip on the slick mud and send them tumbling down into the gaping mouth of a large canyon. Now Sonic and Shadow must find a way to work together and get out of the canyon before they both end up dying. Though, as the two were forced to work together, deeper feelings began to burn between them. Feelings that get in the way of Sonic's goal of capturing the outlaw. Cover art does not belong to me!
