this poem is a monday through sunday narrative of a life of a high school student; an overachiever. written by a high school student it is raw, it focuses on the real and raw emotions and feelings as well as events that high school students who focus on grades go through. it showcases the struggles and downhills to the perfect students we see in the hallways who seem to have their life in order and colour code binders for fun.

Unsurprisingly the noises were coming from the kitchen, hesitantly he trekked up the narrow hallway that led up to the room, placing the flat of his palm against the metal doors he pressed lightly. Wincing at the rusted hinges squeaking, peaking through the small gap that formed he saw a thin figure hunched over a basket of (expired) pop tarts. "Yo," He groaned, stepping into the room, "You need to leave, kids aren't allowed at school during this time." He shrugged as the boy flung his head around, mouth stuffed with the unhealthy pastry. Crumbs littered his cheeks as frosting landed on his chin, chewing slowly his eyes wandered around the room, he was like a caged animal searching for an out. Swallowing with a hint of hesitance he backed up further in the corner, "I'm no kid, next year I'll be out of here." --- A wannabe artist falling to the worse job, janitor, stumbles upon a student. One that seems hellbent on being as annoying as possible, trying to not fail in his constant battle with his own health, and now Christmas looming over all of them time can break the strongest of people.
