This is actually an adaptation of Ovid's poem Apollo & Daphne. It is a project that was assigned to me by my Latin teacher. Hope you like it!

This is an epic poem inspired by reading Milton's Paradise Lost. I wrote "Pygmalion's Lover" for an English course where we were required to write an adaptation of a Greek/Roman mythological story in play form. I decided to write my paper on the Greek myth of "Pygmalion", being drawn to its peculiar take on obsessive love. write about the story of "Pygmalion". "Pygmalion" is a story featured in Ovid's famous work Metamorphoses which holds a vast selection of famous Greco-Roman myths. In the process of writing my paper, it sparked an idea for a future short story for a modern-day twist of Pygmalion. I hope you enjoy this one for now though! How is she going to fare without Hustler and John? And what about those city boys?! This is the year that Marley Piper will never forget...The year someone broke the opaque glass window that is her scarred past.

Ovid tells us that the first werewolf was Lycaon, the cannibal king of Arcadia. He tells us that unspeakable crimes and insufferable pride brought lightning down upon the head of the king. Quite literally so. The shock of primal force evidently drove Lycaon from his wits. In his madness Lycaon believed he had metamorphosed into a wolf. He behaved as a wolf. He lived as a wolf. And over time he became a wolf. What Ovid fails us tell us, though, is how the other wolves - the natural-born wolves - responded to the interloper
