There is an old folklore about the Children of the Forest. They were mortal spirits who were the First Benders with the ability to travel freely to the spirit world and to the human realm. Each with their own element of air, water, earth and fire. They were one with their elemental animals and travelled the spirit and human realm freely. Fire Lord Azulon was one of the very few humans aware that this folklore was more than a mere legend, although slightly altered, but factual. He sought out dragons and in one of his searches he found a Child of the Forest with a Fire Element by sheer unfortunate luck and after defeating her, he imprisoned her. (Y/N) was seen as the key object of victory within the Fire Nation and a driving force of power to their legacy and supremacy but to Zuko she was not a weapon of mass destruction or a spirit creature; she was so much more. As the Sozins Comet approaches and the Avatar Aang prepares to face Firelord Ozai with the help of his friends, it's clear that Zuko and (Y/N)'s paths are more far apart than they know. "WHEN FIRE MEETS FATE" Princess Daiyin of the Fire Nation has been chosen to train the new Avatar in her fire bending skills. The rather practical, sometimes emotionless princess travels with Korra to Republic City, where things start to get interesting with both the Avatar and her own family dynamic.

Avatar: The Last Airbender AU where Zuko never gets banished and stays loyal to the Fire Nation like Azula. While he still isn't as good of a firebender as she is, he uses dual swords to fight leading to Ozai keeping him the first Royal assassin. Note: This fic may enter some dark themes such as death and murder as it goes on. I will tag accordingly as the story progresses.
