Fawn, the quiet assistant of the Duke, accompanies him during a trade visit to Castle Dimitrescu. Small, polite, and visibly vulnerable especially with her paralyzed arm she immediately catches the attention of Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters.
At first, the daughters treat the girl as little more than entertainment, testing her obedience, patience, and composure. They expect fear, resistance, or defiance but Fawn gives none. Instead, she responds with quiet respect and unwavering politeness, even when frightened.
Lady Dimitrescu watches carefully. Beneath the girl's calm demeanor she senses something deeper: trauma, discipline, and a strange fragility that refuses to break.
As the Duke's visits continue, Fawn spends more time inside the castle. Slowly, the daughters' curiosity turns into protectiveness, though they would never admit it aloud.
