XIAOBLACKMOON
In his previous life,
Wu Zehua, the abandoned Ninth Prince, was known across the empire as a ruthless war prince whose brilliance on the battlefield nearly secured him the throne. Feared for his cold composure and terrifying military prowess, he ultimately abandoned political ambition after falling in love with a scholar, provoking the disappointment of the emperor and allowing another prince to inherit the empire instead.
Jin Jiuqiu, the Third Son of the General's household, first met the quiet prince at the age of ten during the selection of imperial study companions. Captivated by the prince's distant nature and ethereal beauty, Jiuqiu carried that silent affection throughout his youth. But before he could confess, war separated them. Years later, after misunderstandings, missed chances, and unbearable longing, Jiuqiu arrived only in time to witness Zehua leap from a cliff following the death of the prince's beloved.
Unable to let him go, Jiuqiu leapt after him.
Death, however, was not the end.
Reborn once more into his ten-year-old body, Jiuqiu awakens at the beginning of their story, determined to prevent the tragedy of the previous life. But the moment he reunites with Zehua, he realizes something is terribly wrong.
This version of the Ninth Prince is different.
Gone is the ambitious war hero destined to shake the empire. Instead, Zehua quietly allows Jiuqiu close, smiles at him for the first time, and later withdraws entirely from politics after returning from war, isolating himself within a secluded lotus courtyard while the rest of the palace tears itself apart.
Somewhere beneath white robes, painted faces, drifting flower petals, and green butterflies lies a truth capable of overturning both the empire and the hearts of two men bound together across lifetimes.
