This story is a ship between two characters in the game Hollow Knight. Before reading this I would suggest you try to get and play the game, at least one play through first it's a great game it has wonderful and interesting gameplay, lore, music, artwork and it's just a great game! Our little knight is definitely about to be tested emotionally and put to an extra firey test! Grimm, he is definitely one of the most interesting beings out there when you start to talk to him. Some bugs question what he is or how he and his troupe got to the fading town called DirtMouth. A small town with a quiet and calm air to it, with a small population of about six at the moment.The Troupe Master Grimm the great holder of the Nightmare Heart, starts to have a rather. Since the beginning of Hyrule; creatures have roamed the lands in search of their own purpose. Beings that search in the name of Power, in Courage, and in Wisdom. Yet; there are not just gods within the lands of Hyrule. While three deities representing these for themes of the Triforce- Din, the Goddess of Power, Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Farore, the Goddess of Courage- there was a lot more out there. Outside of the Kingdom of Hyrule; Pale Gods fought for domination over certain aspects of the world they ruled. They were titanic beasts; each with their own power over mind, body, and especially soul. In the present day, though, all of these titanic and great gods have been extinct for thousands of years. Except... One. Y/N. Child of the Pale King and the White Lady. The First of their Children and the one meant to inherit the Kingdom of the Hallownest. Only he remained after the emergence of the mighty and feared goddess of light- The Radiance. The plague she brought was devastating, and only by fully ascending into a God Born of the Pale and Void did it end. But it was far too late for the now ruined kingdom. His siblings were dead; his mother missing, and his father's shell sitting empty on his throne. He wanders the world, now, eventually finding Hyrule and settling there. He didn't originally plan too- but it wasn't until he met someone who gave back his purpose of a protector did he make that decision. Now; he guards Hyrule, helping weilders of the Master Sword combat the evil that threaten the world. Especially when Calamity threatens to destroy it once again. He witnessed one Kingdom fall to a plague, he refused to watch another one succumb to the same fate.

This is a Hollow knight Fanfic with my character, Phantom as the main character. A king returns to his fallen kingdom and reunites with the freed vessel. Together, they are forced to undergo a few challenges at the hands of an angered higher being. As the flames curl, so too do the curtains, drawing away to reveal the weeping void. (REPOST FROM ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN) okay, so this is all an au. This takes place after the radiance is banished, and only two vessels survived, seeing as the radiance infection was the only thing sustaining broken vessel and lost kin. While vessel's don't have voices or mouths, they can transfer their thoughts into echoes that are interpreted as words. They echo through the vessel's horns, the longer/bigger their horns are, the louder their "voice" can get. Vessels express themselves through closing their eye holes and purring. Those left in the abyss have stunted growth. Some of the vessel's are born with the monarch wings while others have to earn them. Ghost acts like a child because they are physically and mentally a child, although they are slightly smarter than an average five year old. Vessels can transfer soul to other vessels of the same genetics, but it's very tedious and tends to put the vessel into a vulnerable state. (more will be revealed in the book)

Contains spoilers! Hollow Knight is owned by Team Cherry What if The Shade Lord was their own being and didn't have Ghost as their vessel? What if they had awoken much earlier and took the small knight under their wing to train them to save their sibling high above? What if The Radiance wasn't at fault? What if both Gods worked together to stop the true cause of the infection.

A story in a non - infected AU about the different groups across Hallownest, and their war. But one came and helped saved it all...
