Though, your unique existence doesn't grant you with such privilege. * * * A fan-fiction of a video game THE HOLLOW KNIGHT, a story I made for myself to retell the story of the Kingdom of Hallownest before it fell to ruin.

You lived a normal life in your kingdom. At least, as normal as you could live, considering you were the Princess of Xypheir, a kingdom of its own renown. One day, the King you learned to call The Pale King offered your parents a deal. A promise, one they couldn't refuse. Next thing you know, you're being sent away to the great Kingdom of Hallownest, where you're supposed to both train and marry the Pale King's child, the training as the Pale King's end of the deal, marrying as your parents' agreement. At first, you couldn't help but feel rage, but then you discover that his child is a vessel, born to take on an infection that found Hallownest. So everything will alright, right? You won't have to deal with him for long, and it will be okay, because it's not like you would form a bond with him... Right? DISCLAIMER: None of the characters or areas belong to me (aside from Xypheir, and more or less MC), they all belong to their respective owners, Team Cherry. Hollow Knight also does not belong to me, so once again, thank Team Cherry for the hell that is the Absolute Radiance (/hj).

A bustling, beautiful kingdom, ravaged by disease and revenge. But what would happen if the Infection never made its way across the kingdom? After Hallownest returned to peace, everyone lived together harmoniously, sharing a house where they lived and worked. The story revolves around H&P's house through the four seasons, starting in winter... The story contains shipping and OC x Canon elements which may be off-putting to some... A king returns to his fallen kingdom and reunites with the freed vessel. Together, they are forced to undergo a few challenges at the hands of an angered higher being. As the flames curl, so too do the curtains, drawing away to reveal the weeping void. (REPOST FROM ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN) okay, so this is all an au. This takes place after the radiance is banished, and only two vessels survived, seeing as the radiance infection was the only thing sustaining broken vessel and lost kin. While vessel's don't have voices or mouths, they can transfer their thoughts into echoes that are interpreted as words. They echo through the vessel's horns, the longer/bigger their horns are, the louder their "voice" can get. Vessels express themselves through closing their eye holes and purring. Those left in the abyss have stunted growth. Some of the vessel's are born with the monarch wings while others have to earn them. Ghost acts like a child because they are physically and mentally a child, although they are slightly smarter than an average five year old. Vessels can transfer soul to other vessels of the same genetics, but it's very tedious and tends to put the vessel into a vulnerable state. (more will be revealed in the book)

Waking up from your way-to-comfortable bed, you brush your teeth and go shower since you smell like a dying fish. After the refreshing, long shower, you dry your hair, put some clothes and go out to go to your miserable office job. But then, your worst fear happened, perfectly placed banana peels. You trip onto one of them, as you scream at the gods, cursing them for bringing such a pitiful end to your life, but it does not stop your fate, as you soon do a mortal flip, and fall headfirst into the ground, dying. after the pale king sealed the abyss, many vessels managed to escape. the pale king picks up on this, and in an effort to save face, demands that the vessels be caught and killed. plans to seal the hollow knight in the black egg insue, as the pale king hopes to end the radiance's reign. the story follows 3 vessels in particular: ghost (the knight) joni ( the one in the middle) and mason (the one on the right) as they seek to escape hallownest alive. NOTE: this is a rewriting of a story i worked on a year ago. I didnt end of finishing that story, and the reason was because i didnt know what i was doing. I didnt have a plan, and i worked with many ideas at once that just didnt work in succession. This time i do have a plan, and i will accomplish it to the best of my ability. Im sorry for keeping everyone who liked my story hanging. I hope to do better.
