"When you're in high school everything can seem painful; either painfully boring or painfully disappointing. But after high school you can look back on it and see that it was all an experience, all vital life, and it can be used to make art." -James Franco I recently read James Franco's book "Palo Alto" and I fell in love with it. So I decided that I would write my own story, inspired by the ones in the book with some of the characters from the book/movie, and set in university instead of high school.

Clouded in intrigue and controversy, being the daughter of an infamous missionary organisation drew suspicion to her character. Emery was destined to have all eyes on her but secretly she only ever wanted one person to look at her differently. Emery only ever wanted to be the person that people liked. She was kind and generous but people only ever saw what they wanted to see. ---- Raised on the wrong side of the tracks, taught to fend for himself and take care of his own, SweetPea learnt that it was every man for himself from a very young age. If you wanted something badly enough you had to fight for it. Despite having a hard candy shell, impossible to crack, deep down inside he had his demons and vulnerabilities and just wanted one person to see him for who he could be; someone to see his potential. --- They were both misunderstood.

Based off of the movie Thirteen, this book tells the story of Camila, a sweet girl going into her junior year and has never let a bottle of alcohol touch her lips and has never gone further than kissing a boy. In the beginning of summer she meets Lauren, the troubled leader of the pack of the careless teenagers in her school, with lives full of smoking, drinking and sex. In a stint of chance of rebellion, Camila hangs out with Lauren and unknowingly begins the avalanche of her recklessness which will soon spiral into an uncontrollable chaos.

This is me picturing my future collage life. My first dream school has always been Stanford, but then it changed to the University of Chicago. I got rejected from UChicago, and now I come here when I need to get my anxiety out.
