Twelve years back, the land collapsed, the sea rose. Ten years later, the asteroids rained down, the other planets gone. Then, the Subzero started. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ A year after the Late Asteroid Bombardment, a winter came that seemed to last a lifetime. No one expected the new apocalypse coming---the Subzero. The dust particles of dissolved Mars and asteroids shrouded the atmosphere, preventing the sunlight from reaching the planet's surface. The Earth turned into a complete ball of ice, freezing even the flux of life. Food became a luxury. The extinction began. Survival became impossible. Seventeen years in existence, a survivor of the first two apocalypse, now struggling against the Subzero, Halley Jacquards is left alone after her whole family died. She is left to suffer starvation and thirst, oppressed by the blizzard that turns everyone frozen. Tempted and forced to go outside from hunger, she meets Grey Laxford of South Division, who promises to help her into survival. Ranging from the divisions of Pangaea Ultima to the Pacific Ring of Fire, the South Division team will suffer the wrath of nature, the lost of technology, the inconsistency of trust, and everyone's greed just to survive. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Copyright © 2016 J. Skipping - formerly know as Time-Skipping - helped reduce the overpopulation that plagued the world in 2218. At first, they'd Skipped scientists, doctors, and military leaders; in short, people that were excited to discover a different version of their own miserable world. They'd sent along communications systems, med bays, and any other technologies they could think of to help the pioneers set up a new civilization. The plan was to eventually start Skipping people by the thousands to help lower the population - but something went wrong. Cut to 2238. Skipping is now used as a punishment. The government empties the prisons by Skipping the prisoners to a fate that might be worse than death. Carter had heard the stories. Prisoners were Skipped with only the clothes on their backs and the shoes on their feet. It wasn't likely they'd lasted more than a few hours in the strange lands of the past and far distant future. He'd been in isolation for seven months by the time they finally decided to Skip him - his family's reputation had saved him for at least that long, enough time to say goodbye to the people he loved, but not enough time to overturn his sentence. So they Skip him, and to his surprise, he doesn't die in the first two hours. In fact, he lasts through the night and partway through the morning. That's when he meets Shalom and his camp - more like small city, to be realistic - of pioneers. Shalom's made the camp home for over 500 people and counting. It seems idyllic at first: everyone works together, there are no wealthy, there are no poor, and the people are friendly. But there's a rival camp only a few miles away; a rival camp that is desperate to get their hands on the precious resources that Shalom's people have - medbays, 'screens, as much technology from 2218 as they'd been able to carry. And there's something lurking outside the camps walls; the sinister beast that the prisoners back in 2238 had nightmares about.

***Blurb*** His wrists and ankles, held in shackles that possessed the eternal fire no longer caused him pain. He had grown used to the pain, to the burning, till his skin went numb. In that gravely silence, came a soft voice that bled of pain and desolate. "Thorius? I...I...wait-" a painful cough interrupted, "waited for...y...you." It was her! His little mortal was praying to him. She sounded as though she was in her last moment. "No!" Thorius cried falling on his knees. "Why did it take you so long to pray you silly girl? I could have done something to protect you!" Thorius questioned angrily. He knew she could now hear him. For only when a mortal prayed to a god, could a god answer them. "I'm sor...sorry!" She apologized in a weaker voice. It is then that all the pain and frustration that had been bottled inside Thorius exploded. His eyes lit up as power surged through his body in the form of lightning. Without thinking, the god yanked his right hand and the chain broke. Slashing his wrist open, Thorius uttered, "I give you my blood, with it, my power. I bind your soul to mine. As you die right now, your reincarnation will be born. And when you are born, I will come looking for you. From this life to the next, I give you the name, Sophia." ********************** ********************** Earth is once again one continent and the mages are the self-made gods, demanding total submission and obedience. There are so many rules to be followed and Sophia feels like she cannot breathe even though this is their way of life for years and years. She wants to try new things, go to new places and meet new people. Then she gets married to one dashing Lord, Ragnar. With this marriage, reality sets in. She's a wife now to a 'man' who wields fire like a weapon.
