Looking down as I walked, I could smell smoke. As I looked up, I could see the fire getting bigger. Moving the hair out of my eyes, I quickly sprinted over. I could hear his calls for help clearly. "Shit! I don't think i'm gonna make it." I panted. "Amari! Get out of there fast!" I screamed. I got chills and my body froze. I looked up at Amari stuck in the fire. "Jump over it!" I yelled. But this short ass little boy sure couldn't do that. "I can't! I can't even jump barely!" He said, with his face full of fear. I hurried and took out my water and opened it before throwing it onto the fire. Which only put it out for a quick five seconds. During that time, I had grabbed him and pulled him. We both fell backwards. I managed to stumble to my feet and pull Amari by his hand out of the forest. I stopped at the end of the trail we were meant to follow to get back to my car. "What the fuck was that?" I managed to ask. He looked at me, his eyes full of fear and confusion. "I really don't know the answer to that, Noah." He said trying to avoid the question. "Just tell me to truth Amari." I said before beginning to walk down the trail. For the next few minutes, he didn't say a word. "We can talk about it later. Let's just take it easy, ya know?" I said scratching the back of my head nervously. "Yeah, just. Take it easy. Right." He said letting a shaky breath out. ---- Completely by me. Not inspired.
