Jean-Paul Jean Jaures is a mafia boss living in 18th century Marseille, running a book business as a shopfront to hide his vicious crimes. Peonie de Jardin is, by all intents and purposes, a book nerd. A regular customer at the Amour de Livres bookstore in the 14th arrondissement, she frequently makes purchases, inadvertently supporting the mafia culture in Marseille. Upon discovering her favourite bookstore is actually a lie, Peonie embarks on a mission to turn Jean-Paul and his family from their malicious lifestyle. However, the tension building between her and Jean-Paul threaten to pull them both from their lives as they know them... A departure from our normal writing, this piece offers a deep, philosophical insight into the most important matter in the history of the world - the role of the toilet in our everyday lives.

***The main characters are loosely based on Lazarus and Joannes Baptista Colloredo, conjoined You might (or might not) recognize Amma, Professor Solstice, and/or Ida from some of my other stories. Rembrandt von Trotta has lived his entire life with Rubens (his parasitic twin) attached to his belly. He's successfully evaded attention by living a reclusive lifestyle and draping himself in a cloak. However, he's tired of living this way, so he consults a local witch, Amma, (who appears in my previous works) to separate him from his brother. Amma rubs a strange herbal mixture on Rembrandt and Rubens, and tells him that it will fully "kick in" that night. However, the results are not as Rembrandt expects.... (The body type I gave the twins-- when separated --is the type I find attractive hehehe....)

In 2016, geologist Yan Ran unearths two perfect superconducting orbs buried in 450-million-year-old Ordovician rock-artifacts that should not exist. When decoded, they reveal the impossible: a lost civilization on Mercury that reached "Silver Age" glory, only to abandon their dying world and upload their consciousness into the void. They became eternal observers, singing one final song across the stars: Born in Flame, Gone to Void. Now, humanity faces the same fate. Betelgeuse did not explode naturally-it was deliberately formatted by a higher-dimensional parasitic network that uses stars as nodes and civilizations as seeds. The countdown has begun. Aboard the starship Ordovician, Captain Neil Musk and scientist Yan Ran chase the truth across the solar system and beyond. Three paths emerge: become new parasites, flee into the void like the Mercurians, or fight back and shatter the mirror of fate itself. But the Mercurians are watching. And they have left humanity one final choice. A hard sci-fi epic of cosmic horror, ancient memory, and the ultimate question: When the universe treats you as a seed... do you grow, or burn the garden down?
