Anderson Rule (n.) - To protect those closest to you; to act with humility, respect, and accountability; to control your emotions and never let anyone take you out of character; be a leader, not a follower Zayn Strickland Anderson is facing his toughest years yet. Since entering high school he's succumb to peer pressure and as a dual athlete (baseball/basketball) he's become a total jock, or as his cousins say, a jerk. He's become a rebel, resistant to the rules and disrespectful to his elders. While he's always a temper, he's been able to take redirection. Now? He fights back. The Anderson rule, the code his father has taught him to live by means nothing to him. He lives by his own code of doing whatever he wants. It's reaching a breaking point that leads him to alienation and hurt towards others, including his best friend Mia. Will his parents be able to help him before it's too late or will he lose all the relationships he's built, for good?

But when a shocking tragedy claims the lives of the family's beloved matriarch and patriarch, the perfect image shatters. Their three children-Adam Jr., Zara, and Zachary-go from grieving heirs to prime suspects in a case that turns friends into enemies and the media into monsters. Once a tight-knit family with a global legacy of compassion, the Greens now face scandal, betrayal, and a chilling question: who really wanted them gone? As the siblings spiral-one into work, another into fame, and the last into recklessness-they'll have to confront the dark secrets behind their parents' deaths and the truth about the world they thought they ruled. It's hard for me to see faces, sometimes. I mean, it's difficult to see someone's face when it's obscured beneath a colorful fog of all the things they don't want you to see. The fog is emotion, aura, soul essence- I don't know...something like that. The colors tell you things, though...things the person doesn't think you know. It's only polite, then, to focus instead on what they know you can see...Their face. The face tells you more than that colorful fog anyway. Do you know why? Well, it's because the face, - the wrinkles under their eyes and the dirt smudged along their chin- they tell you all the tiny things. The tiny things tell an honest story. So one day I enchanted a pair of glasses. They take away the smoke and I can see things as they are. I could see her face. She smiled and rolled her eyes. That told me more than plumes of pink and purple ever could have. (Previously titled Astral Blood)
