Nova Barbridge never really wanted a child, but in a world where every part of your life matters to your career, she passed the test that qualified her to adopt and raise a future member of society. Rhoswen Barbridge has grown up in a cold exposure to reality, but she knows that she can trust her mother. When Rhoswen gets involved in some things that put her in serious danger, she hopes her mother will risk her career to help her daughter in her time of peril.
