This is the most eventful moments of my oc, Ada's life before meeting Kady's character, Caspian! They're all pretty spaced out in time, and definitely not in order... you might want to check the notes for context in all of them!! Fair warning!! Ada is a sheep-girl Hybrid, born and raised on a farm, up until her parents' death when she was nine. From then on, she had to take care of the farm and raise her newborn sister... all the while slowly mutating into the Hybrid she is now. Also, it's worth mentioning that she's in Medieval times for this!

I was ten when my parents came home with a baby. She was crying and screaming and my parents were too high to do anything about it - so I picked her up. Her name was Layla. Mine might as well have been Mother. I raised her while surviving off canned beans for dinner, babysitter favors, and the paycheck my brother scraped together after dropping out of school. We made a promise - that Layla would grow up safe. But promises are easy to make when you're not bleeding to keep them. I let my guard down once. That was all it took. Follow Penny Straza on her journey with Layla. :)

Short poem! Exploring the experience of living in a chaotic, neglectful, and poverty filled home from a parentified child. In hopes this makes someone out there feel seen. Brings light to things society shames like roaches, lice, dirty house, ect even though it was never the child's fault 🫶🏻 I hope this helps you feel less alone in this experience & heal from it or take proof from me that things WILL get better:)
