As stubborn as he is tough, Liam just wants to help out a friend out of a protection racket. Before he knows it, he is holding a deed, a gun that sings, and has a demon stalking him through the suddenly empty subway station. With visceral combat and wisecracking that can only come from someone not quite all there, Fallen Star Rising is the first part of a (overly)ambitious writing project. Just a little more detail: Kung fu? We got that. Smartass protagonist that makes impulsive decisions? Yup. A deep and involved world that doesn't quite make sense? Of course. Magic that lurks quietly in the peripheral vision? Sure.

Five assassins are loyal to The Organization, but particularly its Matriarch, Karen. When a change of power tears apart the empire, the five of them are pitted against each other. With the help of their instructor they have to overthrow the successor in order to survive. What will become of the two Brits, the two Japanese brothers, and the American wildcard assassins when they try to work together after being told to kill each other? Sorry! I suck at descriptions. I've rewritten this one five times!!
