"Ugh finally!"
Jay sighed with relief, I let out a little giggle and hopped off the bus along with him. As we were walking the next thing I knew was pushed out of the way with golden locks swinging in my face, that new Katy perry perfume flooding my nostrils, a Louis Vuitton purse smacking me like a human punching bag and a high pitched voice run through my head like my morning alarm!
"Jay! Jay! Jay!"
Of course, Cassidy.. Cassidy marks.. The most popular girl in school attacking poor Jay.
"Jay! Great to see you! How have you been!?
Jay and I gave each other a wide eyed look. As polite as Jay is he answered back.
"Good to see you too, and I'm doing fine thanks"
I got a bit tired of standing behind Cassidy so I gently nudged her and moved in.
"Oh Avery... Um hi long time no see"
I could see all of the hatred in her eyes for me.. It was very irritating.
"Yeah hi to you too Cassidy"
She turned away from me and refocused her tiny attention span back onto Jay.
"So Jay are you free this avo?"
Jay instantly turned to me. We did have plans but I'm pretty sure we'll need a rain check.
"Your not?! Perfect meet me at my car this afternoon at 3:30"
Cassidy wasn't always like this.. Before grade 10 she was my best friend along with Jay. After a few weeks in semester 3 it was hasta la vista Avery and hello miss popularity. Now Cassidy's number one and I'm number 100.
*DING DING DING DING*
Ugh thank goodness, saved by the bell.
Cassidy walked off with her huge group of friends. I began walking, Jay followed behind.
"I promise I'll make it up to you Avery"
I was silent for a bit.
"Okay, promise?"
I was happy to think that Jay would still want to spend his time with me.
"Promise"
