There were too many voices and not enough understanding. I learned to silence mine to keep the peace. I became good at being quiet, even when I was screaming inside. everyone had something to say- their anger, their chaos, their needs. but no one ever asked how I felt. no one ever stayed long enough to hear the answer. some days, i spoke in hints. in sighs. in slammed doors. in tears that came without warning. I thought maybe someone would notice. maybe someone would care enough to look closer. but all I ever got was "you're too emotional," or worse- "stop overreacting." I learned to swallow my voice like medicine, even when it made me sick. I told myself, "just get through it." "just be easy." "don't make it worse." I became the quiet one. the good one. the one who didn't need much, because needing things only led to disappointment. and even now, I still struggle to speak when it matters most. I still flinch at the sound of raised voices, even if they're not meant for me. because when you grow up unheard, you start to believe your silence is safer than your truth.

P-S I'm currently re-writing some chapters because i thought the style didn't quite follow throughout the story Life can be full of interesting surprises and the best ones make you wonder what's beyond the line.
