What I remembered, that night, was the cold.
The kind of cold that sears into bones. While I was stumbling forwards, frightened, and of course, frozen.
I looked down my bloody hands. My frozen and bloody hands. His blood.
"Hey! Hold on!"
My blood ran cold. And I hid my hands in the pockets of my coat as the voice from the man who called, gets closer.
I looked at him. He was breathing heavily. His dark hair were disheveled, his brown eyes were worried. He seems relieved to see me.
"Are you alright?" he asked softly, with a rough voice.
Am I alright? Is that really the question that came into his mind, now?! I couldn't answer. He noticed my silence, and added :
"Let me help you. I know you did nothing wrong, okay? I know you-"
"No!" I snapped. I hated that he was defending me, again.
He sighed softly, as he does every time things get difficult between us. But tonight, he cannot. He cannot act like what happened was a mistake. He raised his arm, but I stepped back.
"Look, I've got you, okay? We'll figure this out. I won't let you down."
"There is nothing to figure out! Are you blind Aaron?! Didn't you see what I did?!" I yelled, showing him my bloody hands to remind him. But all he did was frowning.
"I know what happened. I was there, remember? I'm just telling you I'm still with you and won't let you down after that. Don't push me away." He stepped closer.
"You SHOULD let me down. I'm not the one to defend here! Look!" I showed him my trembling hands. "Look what I've done!"
"Estella, calm down, I need you to breathe-"
"I can't breathe, I KILLED SOMEONE!" I yelled.

Aaron is everything Estella has left; the loyal friend who would do anything for her. Even helping her with a crime.
But how would it go if Theodore Vanessi comes back? What if he's coming back for something in particular...?
