Pastoral Stories

A very simple pastoral poem following two characters, the narrator and the person they are addressing as they engage with the night sky. Interpret the story however you please; it wasn't initially meant to be a romantic poem but that's how it's perceived by some. Please do bear in mind that I wrote this in the 7th grade and a good amount has changed since then.

These unlikely people found themselves playing roles nobody wanted. They are The Four.

A poem dedicated to a friend and a brother who in a desperate attempt to please the world unconsciously abandoned the beautiful job of preaching the gospel and to all of us, who sometimes stray......

This is based on the Korean story about the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd. Long ago the King of Heaven had a daughter, a beautiful and diligent weaver in Heaven. The Cowherd was a poor, young man, but the King of Heaven was impressed by his hard work and virtue... Poem in sijo form (type of Korean poem with syllable restrictions, sort of like a haiku). Something I wrote freshman year for the literary magazine and found on my computer today.
