Khalil Gibran Simon Riley wasn't a religious man and never believed in angels, but he definitely believed in demons. He'd met them personally. Now essentially dead to the world, he existed, haunted by the demons of his own tragic past, so the idea of there being any goodness left in the world, was an abstract concept that only seemed to apply to other people. As far as he was concerned, the curse that had tainted his whole sorry life, meant that he never would have that opportunity to experience anything other than pain and sorrow. So when the universe, in it's warped sense of timing, finally thought it appropriate to bring him an angel, his negativity and suspicious nature, almost allowed it to pass him by. This work was originally meant to be a short story inspired by "Cry of a Banshee by Blackbriar". However, it merged into another story arc I was writing, and grew from there. Sensitivity warning - story does have some dark elements of violence and talk of suicide.

Stranded on a snowy mountain road and at risk of freezing to death, Ghost is rescued by an unexpected and unlikely, good Samaritan. Trapped with a stranger, in a snowstorm, with no contact with the outside world, Ghost realises he must overcome his fear of vulnerability and deep rooted stubbornness, and accept help. He never would have imagined that backing down and swallowing his pride, could open so many doors. This storyline originated from Ghost and Roach being left for dead after being betrayed. It changed and morphed into this one after the remastered Modern Warfare, brought a new life to the character of Ghost. If I have time, I may repost with the original backstory.

Shapeshifter ends up in the same cell as Loki, who's already been imprisoned for his crimes after the events of Avengers. ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ A/N: I have been writing (but mostly imagining) this fic since Endgame came out, so I will say that this story has gotten out of hand on multiple occasions so I'm warning y'all before you get sucked in too deep. I will also say that some stuff here may or may not be changed through the continuation of the MCU (sometimes the changes would inhibit or help this). But I will probably go back and edit scenes if needed and I will try to post once a month at least one chapter. Also, tags do contain somewhat spoilers (and will be updated when needed or finished). Dean has a knee-jerk reaction to seeing an angel almost get put down at a hunter's market, and thirty minutes later, he's in the Impala with Sam and a supernatural creature that wants to tear their jugulars out with his teeth. Sam seriously doubts they can handle the task his brother has taken on, but he's doing his best to be supportive. Castiel wants blood. He wants to rip every human that crosses his path into pieces, and he wants these two humans in particular to stop lying and trying to trick him with false niceties and so-called kindness. He's not going to fall for it; he's not stupid or weak. What he will do, however, is find a way to escape captivity. And, of course, brutally kill them before he leaves their underground bunker behind.
