A young scientist had worked her way up the ladder, going from an assistant to a leading level-C scientist in the most dangerous foundation: The SCP Foundation. The most feared, yet unknown facility that anyone could possibly work in. It houses the most dangerous creatures/items, all collected from around the globe. Even with all the stories and tales that have gonna on in those walls, this scientist has picked a rare subject to look after. One that's rare, even in it's own classification system, to be in charge of any and everything involving it. She knows it's a stretch and maybe a boring one to pick. (At least that's what others have told her) But she doesn't care, she would much rather handle and be around SCP that are actually kind and mean to do good in the world. If not that, just be something that doesn't cause harm to anyone really. Of course, when working in a foundation that has a library of different creatures. It's safe to say that she'll be running into other SCP more than she would like.

Our story begins in a dying world. The sun hangs low, pale and faint, and the wind is bitter and cold. Monsters and sickness alike have pushed people into Wandering Cities, safe havens amongst the wasteland the world has become. And nothing is as it seems- the cities breathe, the land shifts, and reality twists in unruly ways. Amongst it all, an old world sits forgotten, most archives of its history simply gone. In the corpses of this buried world, whispers flow about, and in the fraying weave of the old and rotten Wastes, shines an unknowable light. Gillain is a prince, or so the King of Muln calls him. In all honesty, he's a monster, a patchwork thing made from the scraps of a dead boy of the same name. There's a difference between a monster like Gillian and the other sorts you may come to find. He is a good person. It is only his dreams which crawl with taunting voices and lying songs, something he can never seem to avoid. And at a certain point, they crawl farther than his sleep, and tragedy strikes the boy's haven in the city of Muln. Without much of a choice, he flees, hoping the Wastes can be his new home. Vara is lost, even though she may be exactly where her home once sat. Now, however, it is but decimated and ruined, and she can barely remember why. All she knows is that being alone has started to get to her, and she just wishes to no longer face the wreckage of her city by herself. And then, a shooting star drops from the clouds, and with it comes a stranger in black. A secretive man, but he's at least a man. More of a man than the patchworks that have begun to hunt her down, at least. A man willing to help and protect her. Weaver & the Wight is the first in the Unweaving by E B Nookes. It is an introduction of sorts, both to the Cities that wander this whimsically dark world, and those few that dare venture out into the churning wastelands beyond them. This is a sample. Warning: Absolutely nothing interesting happens in this entire fan fiction, so read at your own risk (of brain damage). Uhh... This story is about Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve who goes under the professional name "Sub Urban"... I assume sometimes he goes to the grocery store, so this is what I'd imagined it'd be like. You might know him from that song that got popular on TikTok "Cradles". Which totally slaps, but the first time I heard it I was like "Holyshit I should be the first person to write a 20 page nonsense story about this dude," and it turns out... I am. The problem is, this fan fiction is almost entirely filler. Nothing happens at all, I just go off on tangents of shit I either made up in my head or stuff I googled as I was going... I toyed with the idea of adding citations but decided to leave up to the reader. Good luck on trying to figure out which of the facts are real and which are the reason people recommend I go back to therapy. Anyway, Danny, if you're reading this, I hope you hate it. I hope you stay up all night staring at the ceiling and wondering where you went wrong. All you ever wanted to do was write music and now random people on the internet are writing convoluted fan fictions about you. This is your life now. You've made your bed, now sleep in it. "somewhere, in this cold, dark world, there is a town that goes by the name Pestin. Pestin is a very quiet town. Empty houses line the cold and dismal roads. At the end of one of these roads lives a deserted mansion. Only few know the incredible story that hides behind its moldy green brick walls" "October 23rd, 1918. Everything was stripped from us... our pride, our families, even parts of our bodies." "On October 23rd, four sixteen year old children and their dog, went missing... they were never found and presumed dead six months later... " " this completely destroyed their families... they died unhappy... " " nothing was heard from these kids until 100 years later... " This is my first story, it's also a comic but I haven't made time to draw it... so it's just like this for now. It will probably be better if I completed the story here so I can draw it out later....

What happens when a person cannot cope with becoming an adult? Well, you will just have to read and see for yourself. (A story I wrote in secondary school. Not my best work but still enjoyable nonetheless! )

She was their only hope. The sick and dying made their way to her doorstep every evening, and she carefully weaved their pain into her patchwork quilts. Now her special gift could become a weapon of destruction, as decades of disease are used to exact revenge on an unfaithful lover. ******************************************** What readers are saying about Patchwork: "This one will get your blood pressure up for sure. So gripping. The writer paints a vivid picture of the depths of this woman's gifts. I love writing that keeps me on the edge and takes me in directions that are shocking and surprising. I got that here. I don't know if there's a 2nd chapter coming, but if there is, I'll be purchasing it." "This story drew me right in. The imagery was so rich and I couldn't wait to see what was coming next. You will love this story." "Enjoyable and, unusually, imaginative..." "Loved this short. It really captured and held my attention with its descriptive narrative and mysteriously, unusual plot. Definitely looking forward to reading more from this author." "I enjoyed this vividly told story which engrossed me from the first page to the satisfying end. I am looking forward to reading more from this gifted author." *************************************************** Patchwork was originally written in 1986. When I decided to become a published author in 2014, I uploaded Patchwork first, just to test the water. It was an instant success! This short story will now be permanently free as a way for my new readers to sample my work. Even the devil has a weakness for undeniable beauty, no matter how young or old... "The Doll-Maker traps the girl inside the porcelain Doll. He smiles at his work, staring into her painted eyes the same blue as hers. Her dress, wide, pink, with ruffles at the cuffs and sleeves, was what she had worn when he first met her. Live with me, forever. He says. This time you will never leave my side..." Includes the orginal 'The Doll Maker's Curse' and the Novella 'The Doll Maker's Master'. Copyright MadInsidiousSheepGrl 2012
