A secret laboratory researching better vaccines and cures for fatal diseases spontaneously burst into flames, killing every scientist within... But some people who watched the footage swear that they saw some sort of strange creatures exiting the building? Skeptics exist, and they include a young man named Ethan, a chronic introvert with no interest in making even one new friend... But Ethan is about to be proved wrong as a personified, anthropomorphic, and very real pathogen shows up at his doorstep and convinces him to turn his small house into a sanctuary for more of her kind. What will happen when pathogens come to life, forced into hiding by the military that aims to swiftly and secretly eradicate them? And will this introverted man who hasn't had a friend since he was 19 care enough to help?? (Author's note: Don't mind that the cover says ''Protector'' and not ''Protection'', I changed the title. The truth behind how the pandemic originated comes from multiple inside sources as those that remain clutch onto any sign of hope to survive. Is there any chance?

Although this does not take place before the beginning of the book, this is meant to provide insight as to what is going on and to what is expected. As much as I am proud of this five-hundred word introduction, I am not certain whether or not I shall insert this as a chapter.

This form of meningitis has a tertiary stage of symptoms that are brought on by brain damage to the cerebral cortex. Dementia and aggression turn the infected into a rage filled, animalistic creature. Here is the small story told from the point of view of a marine, fresh out of deployment overseas. (Wrote it when I was 13 so sorry for bad editing; kinda rushed)...When a dangerous pathogen is released in the middle of a crisis, people become flesh-eating, walking corpses, these four lives come together to fight as one. They reach towards finding other signs of humanity after being forced to leave their shelter, due to the invasion.
