Ok, so in this AU, Virgil, Roman, Thomas, Patton, and Logan are all just roommates instead of the same person! (I'm sure this AU has already been made but whatever lmao) Since they aren't the same they have some appearance changes (basically changed hairstyles and that's it) and well as changed last names that for me, fit better, or are just random. Thomas is still Thomas Sanders, Logan is Logan Einstien(smarty), Roman is Roman Charming(prince stuff), Patton is Patton Morgan(play off of morality), and Virgil is Virgil Lee(last name of Amy Lee, a singer in Evanescence) The Logince doesn't come 'till really late in the fic just letting you know WARNINGS: Anxiety Attacks Self Harm More edgy stuff...Blame Virgil for this

The tallies appear only when you fall in love. A red tally mark means your love is not returned; these are the most common. Having a black tally mark means that it is. Everyone who fell in love hoped their tally mark would be black. No one ever expected to have three black marks appear all at the same time. Two boys with drastically different upbringings, styles, attitudes, and interests are paired up as roommates. Neither expected it to go the way it did. Virgil had a relatively good life, aside from the crippling dysphoria and anxiety he experienced. His father was supportive of everything he ever did. When he came out as trans, he was accepted without hesitation. Nobody ever really bothered him, and he never bothered anyone. But he was lonely. He hadn't made many friends, and as he got older, his anxiety got worse, and it prevented him from making any new friends. And so, he set off to college right after high school, completely alone. Patton's at home life had never been the best. As the second oldest, the expectations for him were high. His older brother had let his parents down hundreds of times. He dabbled in drugs and became a very ugly person as it began to corrupt him. Patton was left to set a perfect example for his two younger siblings while also trying to make sure that they were safe from the older brother's violent outbursts. In addition, he was forced to hide his identity from his abusive homophobic father, who had threatened to kill his children if they ended up being gay. Patton relied on the few close friends he had to keep himself sane. He was overjoyed to finally be getting out of the horrible household, but terrified of what was to come. The two boys, however different they may be, now have the opportunity to start something beautiful as they learn, grow, and help each other through a new chapter in their lives.
