Mario, Luigi and Pauline fall into a pipe and end up in a different world. Mario and Pauline end up in the Mushroom Kingdom while Luigi is in the dark lands and meets Princess Daisy. In the sequel, they all must face Bowser Jr who is planning on rescuing his father. Meanwhile, far off in the galaxy, Princess Rosalina is there to help.

Luigi was always playing in his brothers shadow. He didn't mind, but.. this was his chance to do something himself.. and who wouldn't help a father whose kids have run away for no good or clear reason.. even if it's bowser..
