This is a fan-story for the game Splatoon 2. (Spoilers for Octo Expansion) Inkopolis Square is thriving with it's final splatfest wrapping up with team Chaos coming victorious. Agent 8 has been living in the world above for quite a long while, but it seems the world below wasn't ready to let the octolings and inklings go. Follow Agent 8, Agent 3 and Agent 4 as they battle the monsters below the waters.

(This one-shot takes place in the Gameverse and is a tie-in to Pirate Wars.) Pearl and Marina go on a trip to New Donk City. Marina feels afraid, fearing an Octarian such as herself would be welcomed with scorn. As it turns out, humans have rather subjective views.

Find out the moments before she escapes and her encounters with the mysterious inkling named Pearl afterwards. Were these two destined to meet or was it fate? Learn the story of how these two formed the duo we all know and love today, Off The Hook! This is my backstory for Off The Hook better known as, Pearl and Marina. This book takes place a bit before their encounter and their journeys after they meet. This is supposed to be accurate to the cannon backstory just with my own lil twist! Yes this is Pearlina but only a bit of fluff, there will be NO smut. THIS IS THE REWRITTEN VERSION OF A NEW BEGINNING! I wrote a book called 'A New Beginning' and became very unsatisfied of how the story turned out so I created this! This rewritten version is a lot more story driven and very detailed!
